Top 5: Best Upcoming PS4 Games
Updated: Apr 2
It's shaping up to be a great year for both Sony's Playstation 4 and Microsoft's XBOX One. Already several great titles have been released on both consoles, and the battle is on! This year will be an exciting one for the world of massively multiplayer gaming, with titles like For Honor, the first game on our list. Let's get right into it.
5. For Honor | Ubisoft | Hack & Slash Multiplayer Online
From the videos and content all over the web, it appears to be a MOBA crossed with brutal FPS style war zones, like they crossed Skyrim with Battlefield. Anyhow, I feel like this game is going to be awesome, here are a few things we know about For Honor, that may have flown under the radar.
Despite everything being shown multi-player, the game will in fact have a single player campaign.
You can play as both Male and Female heroes.
The game will not be free to play! (Thanks @IGN)
For Honor will feature a variety of multi-player game modes similar to those found in current FPS Shooter types.
Scoring consecutive kills will reward your hero with special abilities, such as a healing buff, or a catapult that demolishes an area of your choosing.
There will be a MOBA aspect to FOR HONOR, with AI-controlled "Fodder" units that you can strike down for bonus points.
Most of For Honor's combat revolves around the joysticks, however if you land a sweet heavy blow that kills your opponent you will get the option to press a button for a cool finish him type animation sequence.
There is not official release date yet, but we have caught wind of a possible June 2016 Release. The game will release for PC, PS4 and XBOX One.
Check out this game play video and let us know what your thoughts are on For Honor.
4. DAYZ | Bohemia Interactive | Massively Multiplayer Survival
Walking Dead meets World Of Warcraft? Not really. But still very cool survival game. DAYZ is an open-world survival game in which you awake at a random map location after the world is over run by the dead, only goal.. to stay alive!
What really has us excited about DAYZ, is despite the fact that it has been a mod for years on PC, the console edition of DAYZ will be a standalone product featuring a more well thought out and complex story, a more detailed environment and a more fully built out interaction. No release date on this yet, but we are hoping for a 2016 release. It's speculative if this one will happen.
We came across a hilarious fan made video, showcasing all the "awesomeness" of DAYZ in all of it's buggy glory.
3. Hellblade:Senua's Sacrafice | Ninja Theory | Action
Not a lot has been released for Hellblade, but the trailers that have been released have us excited. A partial Sony PS4 exclusive, but will be available on PC.
You play Senua, a female Celtic Warrior, as she delves into the pits of hell. This hell is no ordinary hell however and is actually a manifestation of Senua's mental illness. Senua experiences psychosis, hallucinations, delusions and suffers from anxiety and depression. You will journey through this living nightmare though the eyes of Senua.
2. Ark: Survival Evolved | Studio Wildcard | Massively Multiplayer Survival
While ARK is available for Early Access Beta on PC and XBOX One.. It is not yet released for PS4. For this reason, it makes our list.
The game play of Ark is very unique, although it does have a lot of elements similar to other open world survival games, it adds a lot more. You begin the game crafting items you need to survive, clothes and weapons. You also grow crops and build shelters to protect yourself from the harsh environment and of course.. DINOSAURS!
There is a lot to do in ARK, you can train dinosaurs and raise them, create communities and engage in PVP, all while maintaining their food and water supply.

1. Final Fantasy 7 - Remake | Square Enix | RPG
This is the glory of all things glorious for the PS4. December simply cannot come soon enough. Fans have waited 20 years to get this remake, and I am truly amazed by the trailers that have been released.
Square Enix has stated that due to the complexity of the original ( being 3 discs on ps1 ) they will need to create the game as several full size standalone episodes. This will allow them to fully recreate the game with all the tools and technology available on the new ps4 hardware, adding to how the story can be told.
Yoshinori Kitase, Producer for @Game Informer, has stated:
"This re-imagined epic will be the next core Final Fantasy installment--or rather, installments," Game Informer's writer states. "When the project was first announced, people were confused by its multi-part nature, but the goal is to structure it more like Final Fantasy XIII than an episodic series."
Kitase adds: "It will essentially be a full scale game for each part of the multi-part series. In XIII, each installment told the story from a different angle. It was kind of like approaching an unknown territory in a sense."
"Whereas with Final Fantasy VII Remake, we already have a preexisting story, so it wouldn't really make sense if that isn't encompassed in a multi-part series... So if we're just looking at each of these parts, one part should be on par with the scale of one Final Fantasy XIII game."
I can't wait. After watching the trailers several times, All I can say is I really hope they don't alter the story-line in any dramatic fashion. One thing I am curious of how they will remake are the not so kid friendly scenarios such as cloud dressing up as a girl to lure a bad guy into bed, and all the other sexual references in the ps1 classic.
